Job summary

JER HR Group LLC invites a seasoned Compensation Consultant to lead client engagements from kickoff to final presentation. You will analyze jobs, price the market, and design pay structures with clear, defendable recommendations for HR leaders and governing bodies.

The ideal candidate has built compensation structures for multiple organizations, can present to elected officials and boards, and navigates the practical and political realities of public and nonprofit pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• At least 10 years of compensation experience with a government agency, nonprofit organization, or consulting firm.
• Proven experience with job evaluation, market pricing, and pay structure design for multiple organizations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and compensation analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings to nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines independently while working effectively as part of a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job analysis through questionnaires, interviews, and reviews of descriptions.
• Evaluate jobs using point factors to establish internal equity.
• Write and update job descriptions, including FLSA status and EEO classifications.
• Identify comparators and design, administer, and analyze salary and benefits surveys.
• Benchmark positions using published surveys to build competitive pay structures.
• Conduct pay equity studies and advise on remediation strategies.
• Design compensation programs including base pay, incentives, and benefits.
• Present findings to HR leaders, executives, and boards.
• Contribute expertise to proposals and RFP responses.
• Use CompBldr and other tools to model pay structures and trends.
