Job summary

Alphahire is seeking a seasoned consultant to lead public-sector classification and compensation studies from kickoff through implementation. You will design peer groups, market surveys, and equity analyses to inform salary structures and phased cost options.

You will present findings to managers, boards, councils, and employee groups, and contribute to AlphaGov proposals with methodologies and past-performance content. Remote-first engagements preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading public-sector classification and compensation studies.
• At least one relevant study completed in the past two years.
• Ability to identify public-sector clients and authorize citation in proposals.
• Strong analytical, report-writing, and client-presentation skills.
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage public-sector classification and compensation studies from kickoff through implementation.
• Lead job analysis, classification structures, and job evaluations using point-factor, market-pricing, or comparable methods.
• Design peer groups and market surveys.
• Analyze internal equity, pay compression, and market competitiveness.
• Develop salary structures, grade assignments, and phased implementation cost options.
• Present findings and recommendations to managers, boards, councils, and employee groups.
• Provide project-management qualifications, methodologies, and past-performance content for AlphaGov proposals.
