UMB Bank is seeking a Community Mortgage Banker for remote work to serve low- and moderate-income communities. The role reports to the Director of Community Development and collaborates with the National Mortgage Sales Manager to promote responsible lending and financial education.

The candidate will pre-qualify borrowers, explain loan options, and build referral networks with community organizations and real estate partners, focusing on first-time home buyers while ensuring compliance with CRA

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years mortgage and banking experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current NMLS registration and SAFÉ registration are required.

Responsabilités

• Represent UMB at community events and business development functions.
• Promote financial awareness and identify community needs to align with product and services.
• Establish and maintain referral relationships with community-based organizations, internal partners, real estate agents and customers.
• Recommend products or services based on feedback from the community to enhance current credit offerings.
• Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers on credit and affordability.
• Explain rate, terms, payment amount and mortgage insurance to applicants and provide status updates with clear communication.
• Focus on expanding home ownership for first-time buyers.
• Provide financial education training to serve community needs.
• Interact with housing agencies and government entities focused on community lending.
