Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation in Missouri seeks a Community Mortgage Banker to help low- to moderate-income families with credit needs within the bank’s footprint. You will report to the Director of Community Development and work with the National Mortgage Sales Manager to promote financial awareness and home ownership.

You will pre-qualify buyers, explain rates and mortgage terms, originate first mortgages, and build referral relationships with housing agencies and real estate partners while

Qualifications

• You have a high school diploma or equivalence.
• You have 3-5 plus years mortgage and banking experience.
• You are effective with business communication skills, both verbal & written.
• You have knowledge of FHA, VA, CONV guidelines and local real estate market.
• You maintain current NMLS registration and can obtain S.A.F.E registration.

Responsibilities

• Represent UMB at community events and business development functions.
• Promote financial awareness and identify community needs to align with product and services.
• Establish referral relationships with community organizations, real estate agents, and customers.
• Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers on credit and affordability.
• Structure and originate first mortgage loans meeting regulatory policies.
• Promote bank-wide products and programs to the communities UMB serves.
