Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Community Mortgage Banker for a remote role focused on helping low to moderate income families with mortgage needs and financial education within the UMB footprint. You will pre-qualify buyers, explain rates and terms, and build referral networks with community organizations and real estate partners.

Responsibilities include representing the bank at events, promoting financial awareness, and originating first mortgage loans while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years mortgage and banking experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of FHA, VA, CONV guidelines and local real estate market
• Current NMLS registration; ability to obtain S.A.F.E registration
• Ability to travel and work outside of the office regularly
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Represent UMB at community events and business development functions
• Promote financial awareness and identify community needs to align with product and services
• Establish and maintain referral relationships with community organizations, internal partners, real estate agents and customers
• Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers on credit and affordability
• Structure and originate first mortgage loans and gather supporting documentation to meet regulations and policy
• Promote bank-wide products and programs that focus on the communities UMB serves
