Job summary

Kemper, a leading insurer, seeks a Commercial Underwriting Associate to serve as the main contact for insureds and lienholders. You will handle calls, interpret guidelines, and process policy changes while maintaining high service quality across a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include 1+ year P&C experience, a high school diploma (associates preferred), and strong communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; CRM and MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• One year or more related Property & Casualty experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
• Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Capable of professional and effective phone skills.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced call center.
• Strong computer skills including typing, spreadsheets, word processing software and CRM applications.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and follow up calls up to 100% of shift.
• Provide superior customer service and interpret guidelines and procedures.
• Research policy information and exercise underwriting authority.
• Escalate risks beyond authority to underwriters or supervisors.
• Process high volume policy change requests and assist with billing, compliance and rating inquiries.
