Job summary

Kemper Corporation is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Associate to service insureds and lienholders from our Lake Mary, FL or Alpharetta, GA offices. You will handle policy inquiries and apply underwriting guidance while delivering high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• One year or more related Property & Casualty experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced call center environment.
• Proficient with computers, typing and CRM tools.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and follow-up calls with professional service.
• Respond to interpretations of guidelines and procedures, rating inquiries and premium discrepancies.
• Research policy information and exercise underwriting authority.
• Escalate risks beyond designated authority to Commercial Underwriter/Sr. Commercial Underwriter or Supervisor/Manager.
• Process high-volume policy change requests and assist with questions related to billing and compliance guidelines.

Provides superior customer service and offers solutions to customers to resolve problems within company guidelines.Position Responsibilities:Effectively handle all incoming calls and follow up calls – up to 100% of shift handling callsProvides superior customer service, responding to requests for interpretations of guidelines and procedures, rating inquiries and premium discrepancies in a prompt and professional mannerResearch policy information and exercise underwriting authorityEscalate risks beyond designated authority level to Commercial Underwriter/Sr. Commercial Underwriter or Supervisor/ManagerProcess high volume policy change requests from internal and external customers.
