Canto, a leader in Digital Asset Management, is hiring its first in-house commercial counsel to build a modern legal function. You will own end-to-end contracting operations, negotiate SaaS agreements, and enable the business with scalable playbooks and CLM.

This role collaborates with Sales, Finance, Security, and executives across US and Europe. Remote-friendly position in US time zones (EST/CST preferred) with focus on risk management, AI-enabled workflows, and regulatory alignment including

• 5-8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology.
• Experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, and NDAs).
• Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks including GDPR and CCPA.
• Ability to operate independently, build processes from scratch, and establish legal infrastructure in a scaling environment.
• Experience partnering with Sales and go-to-market teams in a high-velocity commercial environment.
• Interest in legal technology and AI-driven workflows for contract review and automation.
• Hands-on experience with CLM systems and AI-enabled legal review or drafting tools.
• Prior experience as an early or first in-house legal hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with non-legal stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Negotiate and execute commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs).
• Enforce company positions on non-standard terms and improve time-to-signature with minimal risk.
• Train Sales to handle routine negotiations independently.
• Lead end-to-end contracting for customer and vendor agreements; build scalable, AI-enabled operations.
• Implement and manage a CLM system with templates, playbooks, and workflow controls.
• Leverage AI tools for contract review, risk flagging, and automation.
• Oversee vendor contracting, privacy, and governance; ensure regulatory alignment across geographies.
• Serve as primary legal advisor across commercial matters; manage outside counsel efficiently.
