Job summary

Valley Bank, a trusted relationship bank, seeks a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to drive business development, manage credit quality, and grow client portfolios across multiple states. You will coordinate with line partners to meet banking needs and oversee the loan closing process.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, credit knowledge, and the ability to cross-sell bank products while maintaining client relationships and portfolio health.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years in lending/credit with community or industry involvement.
• Strong ability to review, analyze, and structure commercial loans and cross-sell products.
• Proficient with credit underwriting, basic accounting, and loan documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new client relationships and expand existing ones; respond to referrals from Senior Management and branches.
• Build a network of external referral sources (COIs) to attract new clients.
• Maintain and service portfolios; drive profitability, quality, and growth of the portfolio.
• Negotiate terms of lending facilities in line with credit policies; prepare packages for credit approval.
