Job summary

Midwest Family Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Commercial Auto Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster to manage complex liability claims from a fully remote setup. The role emphasizes investigations, coverage evaluation, and timely, fair resolutions with strong negotiation and documentation practices.

You will work with agents, policyholders, and legal partners, traveling for mediations and trials as needed, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of statutes and policy conditions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years handling Commercial Automobile or Motor Carrier Liability claims, including litigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Investigate & Evaluate – Conduct in-depth claim investigations, gather statements, and determine coverage.
• Reserve Management – Maintain timely and adequate reserving.
• Document Management – Keep organized claim files, reports, and communications.
• Negotiate & Resolve – Negotiate settlements for fair, timely resolutions.
• Stay Current – Monitor evolving statutes, policy conditions, and industry trends.
• Navigate Technology – Use a paperless Claims Management System.
• Engage in Legal Proceedings – Travel for depositions, mediations, and trials.
