Unknown Firm in Cedar Rapids, IA (remote WITHIN Chicago, Iowa, and Minneapolis areas) seeks a Creditors' Rights & Collections Paralegal to own a high-volume practice under close attorney collaboration.

Responsibilities include managing cases from intake to resolution, drafting and reviewing documents, and coordinating court filings while maintaining strict FDCPA compliance and exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience.
• Experience in creditors' rights, collections, civil litigation, insurance subrogation, recovery, or related practice.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active files and deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset.
• Ability to work independently while taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage creditors' rights and collections matters from intake through resolution.
• Communicate professionally with debtors while ensuring compliance with FDCPA requirements.
• Draft legal documents including complaints, garnishments, affidavits, discovery, summary judgment motions, praecipes, and related pleadings.
• Prepare payment plans, settlements, and other collection-related documentation.
• Maintain case files and deadlines within the firm's case management system.
• Coordinate court filings and hearing or trial preparation.
• Process mail, deposits, remittances, and other administrative responsibilities supporting the collections practice.
• Work closely with the attorney to ensure matters move efficiently and clients receive exceptional service.
