Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking an Associate Attorney in Des Moines, IA, to handle debt collection litigation, sign pleadings, attend court, and manage a caseload. Licensure is required with admission to the Iowa Bar; Nebraska licensure is also preferred.

The role involves courtroom appearances, research, and advising on legal risks within state and federal rules. The position is fully remote with standard 8am–5pm hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.
• Licensed to practice law in Nebraska. Prefer additional licensing in Iowa.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
• Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. Also, to write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
• Knowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.
• Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend court hearings and sign pleadings; manage cases and conduct trials.
• Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
• Review correspondence and files; prepare discovery and dispositive motions.
