Ag & Business Legal Strategies in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a compassionate Paralegal for a full-time, on-site role supporting bankruptcy and debt restructuring matters for farmers and small businesses.

You will prepare filings, communicate with clients, draft motions, and perform searches; succeed with strong organization and client service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Paralegal degree or certificate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Preparing bankruptcy filings using BestCase, including schedules and Statements of Financial Affairs.
• Communicating with clients to obtain required information and supporting documentation.
• Drafting motions, applications, reports, and other legal documents as directed by attorneys.
• Conducting UCC, Secretary of State, and county recorder searches.
• Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information regarding client assets, liens, and secured interests.
• Monitoring case progress and assisting attorneys in moving matters forward efficiently.
• Providing exceptional client service to individuals and business owners during stressful and emotionally difficult circumstances.

Join a growing bankruptcy and debt restructuring law firm where you'll help farmers and business owners navigate some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Our firm works with individuals and businesses facing financial distress. We help clients get creditors off their backs, restructure debt, reduce tax burdens, and preserve as many assets as possible. We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Paralegal who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients while playing a key role in a growing practice.

This position offers significant client interaction, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

What You'll Do:
