Trueline Talent is seeking a Creditors' Rights & Collections Paralegal in Cedar Rapids, IA, with remote options within Chicago, Iowa, and Minneapolis areas. The role offers ownership of a high-volume practice and collaboration with an experienced attorney in a growing Midwest firm.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in paralegal work, solid drafting skills, and a client-service mindset. Experience with creditors' rights, collections, and related litigation is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience.
• Experience in creditors' rights, collections, civil litigation, insurance subrogation, recovery, or related practice.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active files and deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset.
• Ability to work independently while taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage creditors' rights and collections matters from intake through resolution.
• Communicate professionally with debtors while ensuring compliance with FDCPA requirements.
• Draft legal documents including complaints, garnishments, affidavits, discovery, summary judgment motions, praecipes, and related pleadings.
• Prepare payment plans, settlements, and other collection-related documentation.
• Maintain case files and deadlines within the firm's case management system.
• Coordinate court filings and hearing or trial preparation.
• Process mail, deposits, remittances, and other administrative responsibilities supporting the collections practice.
• Work closely with the attorney to ensure matters move efficiently and clients receive exceptional service.
