Job summary

Optum Insight is hiring for a full-time remote coding supervisor to lead a remote team of edit coders serving multiple clients. You will oversee performance, onboarding, auditing, and workflow optimization across a distributed workforce.

The role requires AHIMA/AAPC certification, 3+ years in ICD-10/CPT coding and acute coding, plus experience with EMR and encoder tools. Expect collaboration with HR, IT, and billing leadership within a dynamic, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification maintained annually.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience.
• 3+ years of acute coding experience.
• 3+ years of knowledge of OCE, MUE, NCD, LCD, CCI and NCCI.
• 1+ years of EMR and Encoder software experience.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a remote team of edit coders supporting multiple Optum clients.
• Monitor and assist up to 25 remote employees on performance, attendance and productivity.
• Onboard new employees with HR and IT teams.
• Perform auditing functions to ensure coding accuracy.
• Coordinate team to cover edit and denial work queues.
• Troubleshoot and streamline processes with Billing Managers and Supervisors.
• Provide primary contact coverage to hospitals for systems access.
• Guide coding staff and set team direction with management.
• Collaborate with clients and leadership to uphold corporate values.
• Track performance trends to educate and improve coding quality.
• All other duties as assigned.
