Job summary

UW Medicine FPPS is seeking a Coding Specialist 2 for GIM - Hospitalist to identify and code billable professional services across locations, including remote work. You will review data sources, code using CPT/ICD-10, and resolve denials in Epic while collaborating with physicians to verify services.

Minimum qualifications include RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC and two years of coding experience. This is a full-time, remote position with UW Medicine FPPS in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CIC/CIRCC/RCC/ROCC) required.
• Two years of coding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Identify billable services and code using CPT and ICD-10.
• Review data sources (EPIC, ORCA, Mindscape) for new admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Access records and request charts as needed to identify billable services.
• Code documented services and ensure proper provider charges.
• Review and resolve coding denials in Epic daily.
• Consult with physicians to verify services and provide documentation feedback.
• Assist physicians with questions about professional fees.
