Optum Insight is seeking a Coding Support Subject Matter Expert to guide clinical documentation and coding across health systems in the United States. You will serve as a senior resource for coders and providers, ensuring ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS accuracy and payer compliance while optimizing revenue integrity.

The role offers fully remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with opportunities to lead audits, education initiatives, and collaboration with clinical leadership to implement system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of coding experience in healthcare
• Deep understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS
• Ability to interpret coding guidelines and payer policies
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between coding teams and providers to resolve inquiries
• Collaborate with Edits and Denials to analyze trends and implement education
• Partner with clinical leadership during new service introductions to ensure accurate coding
• Provide annual provider audits to validate charges and documentation
• Deliver coding and documentation training for new providers
• Educate providers on code set updates to maintain compliance
• Conduct ad hoc audits in response to client requests
• Educate coders and providers on audit findings to promote improvement
