Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare seeks an Education Specialist to provide ongoing education to providers and coders, and to identify tools that support effective coding and billing.

You will onboard new providers and train coders in CPT/ICD-10 guidelines, while researching coding questions and communicating findings to leadership. Remote or on-site work options in Minnesota and nearby states are available.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication; public speaking.
• Proven ability in education and training.
• Strong analytical skills; proficient with Windows and Excel.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Pre-employment health screening required.
• Five+ years healthcare experience; CPT/ICD-10 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing education to providers and coders.
• Identify and recommend systems to support coding and billing.
• Onboard new providers and train coders.
• Research coding questions related to specialties.
• Communicate regularly with leadership.
• Keep up to date on provider and coder audits.
• Develop coding guidelines and training curriculum.
