Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to build and operate cloud-native platforms with a focus on reliability and automation. The role emphasizes Kubernetes, Azure, and strong observability practices across Azure and AWS environments.

You will contribute to AI-powered automation, manage on-call rotations, and collaborate with security and networking teams to ensure resilient services. Remote work within the U.S. is supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes production experience.
• 3+ years monitoring/observability tools experience.
• 3+ years Microsoft Azure expertise (AKS, ACR, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Private Endpoints, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, Traffic Manager).
• 3+ years in a 24/7 on-call rotation following documented procedures.
• 2+ years scripting in Python/Go/PowerShell/Bash for automation.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and support IaaS and PaaS infrastructure in Azure and AWS.
• Partner with development teams to define, track, and report on SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
• Support provisioning, configuration, deployment, and day-to-day operations of platform services.
• Deploy cloud-native workloads on Azure (AKS, ACR, Key Vault, Front Door, etc.).
• Integrate applications with centralized logging, monitoring, and incident management systems.
• Configure observability tools and dashboards to support production reliability.
