Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to support our remote Security Operations team responsible for the managed security services of clients' cloud-based infrastructures. You will guide teams to evaluate cyber posture and develop monitoring solutions to counter emerging threats, contributing to timely detection and mitigation.

Responsibilities include developing monitoring capabilities, incident triage, endpoint policy implementation, threat analysis, and producing reports.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree focused on Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• 2+ years cyber security or cloud experience, preferably in Security Operations Center.
• Experience with Unix, Linux or Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve system and network security monitoring capabilities and procedures.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents and tune sensors to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security agent policies and rules to meet defensive objectives.
• Support operational threat analysis based on log correlation and endpoint security tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Develop monthly and quarterly reports based on monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Recommend improvements; maintain/monitor production and non-production systems to protect data.
• Write knowledge base documents to improve operations, SOP and organizational improvements.
