SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to support our Security Operations team for managed cloud security services. The role focuses on monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructures for clients.

You will work with Unix/Linux/Windows environments, implement endpoint security, and generate regular security reports. The position is remote, supporting a Herndon, Virginia-based team, and requires a 4-year cybersecurity or CS degree with 2+

Competenze

• 4 year degree focused on Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• 2+ years cybersecurity or cloud experience, preferably in a SOC.
• Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems and CLI.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust and DoD clearance.
• Experience with endpoint security tools and threat countermeasures.
• Scripting language experience is a plus.
• CISSP/CEH/CASP or similar certs preferred but not required.

• Develop, implement, and continually improve system and network security monitoring capabilities and procedures.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents and tune sensors to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security agent policies and rules to meet defensive objectives.
• Support operational threat analysis based on log correlation and endpoint tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Develop monthly and quarterly reports based on monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Recommend improvements; maintain/monitor production and non-production systems to protect customer data.
• Write knowledge base documents to improve operations and SOPs.
