Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP. This remote, contract role entails automation, IaC, and collaboration with senior engineers to drive efficient cloud usage.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field and 3+ years of experience with multiple programming languages and cloud platforms. Strong scripting and security awareness are required to succeed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cloud Computing, CS, CE, IT, or related field.
3+ years of experience with at least two programming or scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell).
Experience supporting at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong scripting and automation experience.
Understanding of infrastructures concepts including OS, virtualization, and networking.

Responsibilities

Engineer and implement cloud-based architectures, migration strategies, deployment solutions, and app optimizations using automation.
Develop and maintain scalable cloud solutions supporting business objectives.
Monitor cloud resource usage and performance trends to optimize spend and efficiency.
Design and develop automation scripts and reusable deployment patterns for cloud apps/services.
Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and deployment approaches for adoption.
Provide Level 2 support for incident, problem, and change management related to cloud operations.
Create and maintain technical documentation and implementation guides.
Collaborate with senior engineers to improve cloud service utilization and efficiency.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
