Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support, engineer, automate, and optimize cloud technologies across the organization. The role involves implementing cloud-based architectures and supporting cloud operations in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a remote, contract arrangement.

You will develop automation scripts, monitor usage, and collaborate with engineers to drive cost efficiency and security. This position does not sponsor work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience with at least two modern programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience supporting at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong scripting and automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement cloud-based architectures, migration strategies, deployment solutions, and application optimizations using automation technologies.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud solutions that support business objectives.
• Monitor cloud resource usage and performance trends to optimize cloud spend and efficiency.
• Design and develop automation scripts and reusable deployment patterns for cloud applications and services.
• Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and deployment approaches to advise on adoption.
• Provide Level 2 support for incidents and change management relating to cloud operations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and deployment guides.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve cloud service utilization and efficiency.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
