Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated Cloud Software Engineer to advance our cloud initiatives across AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will design, implement, and automate cloud-based architectures while optimizing performance and security in a remote, contract role.

You will develop scalable, fault-tolerant cloud solutions, support cloud operations, and drive the adoption of next‑generation technologies. A strong scripting background and IaC experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience supporting at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong scripting and automation experience.
• Understanding of infrastructure concepts including operating systems, virtualization, and networking.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement cloud-based architectures and deployment solutions with automation.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud solutions that support business objectives.
• Monitor cloud resource usage and performance to optimize spend and efficiency.
• Create automation scripts and reusable deployment patterns for cloud apps.
• Evaluate new cloud technologies and provide adoption recommendations.
• Provide Level 2 support for incidents, problems, and changes in cloud operations.
• Document processes, procedures, and implementation guides.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve cloud service utilization.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
