Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to support WaveMark Solutions. You will own reliability, uptime, performance, security, automation, and DR in cloud databases, collaborating with development and IT teams to improve observability and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities include administering Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL in cloud environments, implementing monitoring and runbooks, and supporting deployments. This position is remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle database administration and cloud platforms like AWS RDS or GCP preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms and Infrastructure as Code preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle (primary), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in managed cloud environments.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems for database health.
• Maintain operational standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Support application deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across production and non-production environments.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Design and automate database refresh processes between environments.
• Design and implement data masking for non-production environments.
• Collaborate with security/compliance for audits.
• Work with security on data governance and access controls.
• Partner with software teams to modernize deployment automation and data movement architectures.
• Design backup, restore, replication, and DR strategies.
