Job summary

AMLB is a progressive virtual CFO business in Canada, seeking an Onboarding Cloud Accountant to lead client onboarding and set projects up for long-term success.

You will transform incomplete, disorganized accounting processes into scalable cloud-based workflows, coordinating onboarding engagements, resolving issues, and implementing best practices to ensure a smooth transition into AMLB's ongoing service model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Canadian cloud accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
• CPA designation is an asset but is not required.
• Strong QuickBooks Online and cloud accounting technology experience.
• Experience with accounting clean-up, conversions, implementations, or client onboarding is considered an asset.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, remote-friendly.
• Experience working with not-for-profit organizations is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding engagements from kickoff through transition to ongoing service.
• Develop onboarding plans, timelines, and client action items.
• Review, reconcile, and organize historical accounting records.
• Complete catch-up and clean-up accounting projects.
• Configure and optimize cloud accounting systems and related applications.
• Coordinate onboarding activities across internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare onboarding documentation, SOPs, process maps, and transition summaries.
• Monitor onboarding timelines, metrics, and project status, identifying bottlenecks and improvements.
• Analyze onboarding workload and advise capacity planning.
• Support a limited portfolio of recurring cloud accounting clients.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and support sales tax compliance activities.
• Utilize AI and technology tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.
