Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Accounting Manager – Onboarding to lead the client onboarding function for a growing management services organization. The role combines hands-on accounting, team leadership, and client relationships across nonprofit and for-profit clients in a remote-ready environment.

You will oversee onboarding accountants, handle catch-up bookkeeping, and ensure clean handoffs to CAS and tax teams while optimizing workflows for a superior client experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including senior level or above.
• Experience with catch-up bookkeeping and cleanup for for-profit and nonprofit clients.
• Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent engagements.
• Excellent client communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Xero.
• CPA certification or progression toward CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of onboarding accountants, assign responsibilities, review deliverables, and mentor staff.
• Serve as the primary delivery lead for new clients after contract signing and set expectations.
• Oversee historical accounting and catch-up work, including cleanup and reconciliations.
• Set up new client accounts in internal systems and connect clients to required tools.
• Manage client transitions and communicate new workflows and expectations clearly.
• Ensure thorough, well-documented handoffs to CAS accountants and tax teams.
• Monitor onboarding volume across stages and maintain delivery timelines.
• Develop onboarding procedures, checklists, and workflows for consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure clients are informed and confident in the first 30 days and that records are ready for ongoing management.
