Job summary

Merck in Olympia, WA is seeking a Contracts Specialist to prepare, analyze, negotiate, and manage site agreements and related budgets throughout the contract cycle. You will coordinate with Clinical Research, Regulatory, Finance, and external partners to deliver compliant contracts on time.

The role requires at least bachelor's degree and 3+ years of contract/budget negotiation experience; JD preferred. Strong negotiating, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential,

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher.
3+ years of experience in negotiating contracts or budgets.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, negotiate, and execute required site agreements and associated budgets including CTAs, MDs, and related documents.
Utilize legal fallback language and budget parameters and elevate non-compliant issues for review.
Maintain database and files for contracts, approvals, and budgets with consistent naming conventions.
Ensure timely execution of site agreements and track related metrics.
Perform quality control checks of agreements prior to execution.
Collaborate with CRM, CTC, CRA, COM-R to deliver Site Ready Deliverables and mitigate risks.
