Job summary

Merck in the United States seeks a Sr. Contract Manager for Clinical Research to ensure performance and compliance of assigned protocols under ICH/GCP and country regulations. You will prepare, negotiate, and revise contracts and budgets across the full contract cycle.

This role collaborates with CRM, CTC, CRA, COM-R, and finance, and leads site-facing negotiations, develops SOPs, and supports process improvements. Travel about 10% is required; remote work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
• 3+ years of experience negotiating contracts or budgets.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
• Excellent influencing, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English; ability to work across functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, negotiate, and execute site agreements and budgets across multiple contract types (CTRA, MCTRA, CDA, MCDA, IRAG, MFS, FUA).
• Maintain contract databases and files with uniform naming and saving conventions.
• Coordinate with CRM, CTC, CRA, COM-R and others to deliver site-ready documents and mitigate risks.
• Lead relationships with investigational sites and Site Management Organizations.
• Develop local SOPs and support process improvements.
• Review and expedite site access forms and EMR access forms.
• Ensure timely contract execution and compliance with ICH-GCP and country regulations.
