Job summary

Empathx Clinical Research is seeking a Manager, Contracts & Budgets to lead the development and negotiation of study budgets and Clinical Trial Agreements. You will work with external counsel and internal teams to ensure favorable, compliant language and accurate budget allocation across trials.

The role requires 2+ years in clinical research budgeting and contract negotiation, with strong financial and regulatory acumen. Travel to study sites and sponsor meetings is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical research budget development and contract negotiation
• Proficient systems & technology: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; experience with Medidata Rave, REDCap; CTMS/eRegulatory/eTMF platforms (Veeva)

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and finalize study budgets from initial awareness to live contract phase.
• Analyze protocols to identify financial requirements and assign dollars accordingly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create competitive budgets that maximize financial return.
• Negotiate budget-related contract terms with sponsors, CROs, and stakeholders via spreadsheets, emails, and meetings.
• Track budget performance and adjust to maintain profitability.
• Collaborate with legal and clinical operations to facilitate contract execution.
• Verify budget data in contracts to prevent discrepancies.
• Serve as main contact for budget/contract questions from sponsors or teams.
• Support audits and sponsor/regulatory inspections and internal reviews.
• Complete SOP trainings and maintain licenses/certifications.
• Travel as required for meetings and study activities.
