Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a dedicated customer service professional for a remote role serving Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. You will assist members and providers via phone, coordinate care, and manage referrals and authorizations as part of a high-volume support team.

The position offers full-time hours 8:00 am–5:00 pm EST with occasional overtime and virtual training from home. Travel up to 25% domestically may be required to support market needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• 18+ years of age.
• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• 1+ year in a telephonic customer service role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic).
• Ability to work full time during standard hours (8:00 am–5:00 pm EST).

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake of members or admission/discharge information post notification.
• Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage service requests from members and/or providers.
• Handle referrals, incoming/outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles.
• Provide triage and care coordination notification for non-clinical assessment/intervention.
• Handle inquiries from members and/or providers in a high-volume customer service environment.
