Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Clinical Subject Matter Expert to serve as the clinical authority on a team delivering health IT capabilities for Veteran community care. The role documents how community care workflows operate, translates them into testable requirements, and validates that solutions function under real clinic workloads.

This position is fully remote within the United States. You will act as the bridge between frontline clinical practice, leadership, and engineering while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of clinical healthcare experience.
Active, unrestricted RN license in a US state or territory.
Two+ years in VA community care referral coordination or related areas within last year.
Experience with VA systems like HSRM, VistA/CPRS, Millennium/PowerChart.
Ability to work remotely with Eastern Time availability.

Responsibilities

Document current-state clinical processes and translate to user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
Validate delivered functionality through clinical user acceptance testing.
Define reporting/dashboard requirements for coordinators.
Convene SME discussions across scheduling, eligibility, and provider data.
