Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (RN) to support CDI reviews, physician advisory collaboration, and documentation integrity across patient records. Remote eligibility applies for select states, including Iowa, with on-site collaboration as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews under supervision.
• Submits queries to providers and completes first and second appeal levels.
• Performs rounds, mortality reviews, and second level reviews.
• Assigns and updates ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs per Official Coding Guidelines.
• Identifies need to clarify documentation and initiates provider queries to capture accurate documentation.
• Writes first and second level denial appeals in collaboration with physician advisor.
• Participates in staff training and quality improvement activities.
