Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Jackson, Mississippi, seeks an experienced CDI professional to join our team. The RN will perform CDI reviews, query providers, and work with physician advisors on appeals to ensure accurate documentation and coding.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• RN license required upon hire; compact state licensure accepted in applicable locations.
• CCDS certification required within 2 years of hire.
• CDIP certification required within 2 years of hire.
• 3 years of ICU/Critical Care experience required.
• 1 year in clinical documentation integrity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews; submit provider queries and complete first/second appeal levels.
• Collaborate with physician advisor on first/second level appeals and denial tracking.
• Perform mortality reviews and quality reviews, with documentation in CDI systems.
• Explain documentation gaps and initiate provider queries to improve chart accuracy and DRG assignment.
• Coordinate with coders and interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate coding and patient care documentation.
