Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity RN to perform CDI reviews and manage first and second level appeals. The role requires RN licensure, CCDS and CDIP certifications, and 3+ years of ICU experience.

You will collaborate with physicians, review records, and ensure accurate documentation for coding and DRG assignments. Join a team focused on quality, education, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, with activities that support professional development and process

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree - Nursing - Required
• RN license required; state licensure/compact licensure depending on location
• CCDS certification required within 2 years of hire
• CDIP certification required within 2 years of hire
• 3+ years of clinical ICU/critical care experience
• Experience in clinical documentation integrity functions preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews under supervision
• Collaborates with physician advisor on appeals and denial tracking
• Performs rounds, mortality reviews and second-level reviews
• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs per Official Coding Guidelines
• Requests documentation clarifications to capture illness severity and risk of mortality
• Reviews clinical validation denials and supports appeal recommendations
• Participates in staff training and quality improvement activities
• Communicates with coders to ensure correct DRG assignments
