Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking a CDI Nurse Specialist to support clinical documentation integrity across our care teams. You will review, query and appeal to ensure accurate coding and appropriate DRG assignments, collaborating with physicians and coders.

The role emphasizes patient-centered documentation and continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate holds an RN license with a Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) and 3 years ICU experience, plus 1 year in CDI-related functions.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• RN licensure in state of practice is required or compact licensure.
• CCDS or CDIP certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews under supervision.
• Submit queries to providers and handle first and second level appeals.
• Review and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG codes per official guidelines.
• Communicate with providers and coders to ensure accurate documentation for coding.
