Job summary

Swyfft is seeking a Property & Casualty Claims Litigation Specialist, Liability & Casualty, to manage a diverse Homeowner and Commercial Property/General Liability caseload from investigation to resolution. The role emphasizes empathy, analytical coverage interpretation, and creative problem-solving to reach timely, fair outcomes.

You will negotiate with counsel, review litigated matters, and collaborate with external attorneys while maintaining strong communication with policyholders and teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a casualty/general liability adjuster.
• 5+ years of litigation experience in a multi-state environment.
• Experience drafting initial coverage letters is a plus.
• Experience with habitational risks, premises liability, and bodily injury matters.
• Understand basic legal strategies with venue particularities.
• Experience directing or monitoring outside defense counsel on litigated matters.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and determine liability with final settlement in mind.
• Resolve claims timely with accurate reserves and fairness.
• Review litigated complaints and develop legal strategies with counsel.
• Coordinate with outside attorneys and provide direction on liability/damages.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, experts, and service providers.
• Calculate damages and make payments after liability is determined.
• Apply contract terms to claim resolution and maintain claim notes.
• Evaluate large and complex injury demands and negotiate resolutions.
• Monitor defense counsel for efficient handling of litigated matters.
