Job summary

Encova Insurance offers a full-time summer internship for 2027. The role requires 40 hours per week, with start/end dates based on availability. Remote work may be possible for interns in approved payroll states, with preference for hybrid or WV offices.

The program carries an annual internship award, recognized as a RI SE Elite Top 50 internship. Candidates must be enrolled and have 60 credit hours completed.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Must have completed at least 60 credit hours.
• Excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
• Ability to work as a team member and perform to established standards.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Detail-oriented with strong written and oral communication.
• Experience with Microsoft Products.
• One year of experience in the insurance industry preferred.
• One year of full-time experience in customer service or claims intake preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive initial claim information from customers via phone, email, or fax.
• Provide information on loss reporting options to customers.
• Determine appropriate policy and coverage for loss.
• Onboard new associates with leadership.
• Analyze information to determine needed actions and next steps.
• Document facts of loss in the computer system.
• Respond to requests via phone, email, or correspondence.
• Interpret coverage and issue claim decisions for Engagement Center claims.
• Review and update intake processes and procedures.
