Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an Advisor, Chemical Hazard & SDS Author, Product Stewardship to assess hazard classifications, author SDSs, and maintain SDS inventories. The role involves interpreting reports, applying weight‑of‑evidence, and ensuring regulatory compliance across North America.

The incumbent will collaborate with R&D and other technical teams, travel up to 10%, and contribute to a safety‑driven culture while supporting company objectives and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in product hazard classifications and SDS authoring.
• Ability to interpret technical data and apply weight-of-evidence decisions.
• Aptitude for progressive learning regarding product uses (fertilizers, adjuvants, pesticides).
• Effective written and verbal communication with technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Author SDSs and maintain SDS documents per GHS and country requirements.
• Review lab reports and ensure correct hazard designations and warnings.
• Develop and maintain weight-of-evidence files for classifications.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting SDSs (North America).
• Maintain internal SDS inventories and accessibility of documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D on chemical reaction implications and safety considerations.
• Provide internal advisory support on product hazard reduction options.
