Job summary

Mindrift.ai: Be the “I” in AI is seeking a part-time CFD engineer to set up and run fluid simulations, develop verified reference solutions, and create Python-based validation checks. You will perform mesh-independence studies and validate results against benchmarks or experiments, contributing high-quality CFD solutions for innovative technology projects.

The role is fully remote with a flexible 10–20 hour weekly commitment, and offers a pay rate up to $69 per hour depending on contribution

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related energy/oil & gas field.
• Several years of hands-on industry or research CFD experience.
• Experience with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX, or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Strong verification and validation experience, including mesh-independence studies and benchmark or experimental validation.
• Proficiency with Python and GitHub.
• English proficiency at B2 level or above.
• PhD in a relevant field (preferred).
• Background in aerospace, automotive, offshore, or turbomachinery (preferred).
• Experience with multiphase or particle-laden flows (preferred).
• Availability for an estimated 10-20 hours per week during active project phases.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run fluid simulations using CAD geometry.
• Create verified reference solutions for AI agent evaluation.
• Develop Python checks to validate agent-generated results.
• Perform mesh-independence studies and validate simulations against experiments or benchmarks.
• Contribute high-quality CFD solutions for technology projects.
