Job summary

Logan Health, a growing health system in Northwest Montana, seeks an experienced Certified Professional Coder for a remote, full-time position. You will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records and abstract essential data for tracking, reporting and reimbursement across client databases.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of coding experience and holds a nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC). Remote work is available from approved states.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices is required.
• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC) is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional coding experience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records.
• Abstract essential data elements for tracking, reporting and reimbursement.
• Handle keying, billing and collections for assigned client databases.
• Review records for documentation deficiencies and ensure accurate coding.
• Follow coding guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate corrections with departments to ensure accurate billing and information.
• Meet productivity standards set by Revenue Integrity Coding.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and improve skills.

Education

Certified coding certification (CPC/CCA/CCS or AAPC)
