Job summary

Logan Health is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder to join a remote coding team. The role involves assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records, abstracting data for reporting and reimbursement, and handling billing for client databases.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of coding experience and a recognized coding certificate. Eligible states list includes Montana, among others, with a day shift schedule and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices.
• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC) or AAPC certification.
• Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and team-oriented mindset.
• Strong confidentiality and professional conduct in sensitive situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact tactfully with providers and staff.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn other software.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records.
• Abstracts essential data for tracking, reporting, and reimbursement.
• Keying, billing, and collections for assigned client databases.
• Review records for deficiencies and ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Verify charges and medical necessity; ensure compliant coding practices.
• Communicate with providers and departments to improve documentation.
