Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize commercial prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment. In this remote role, you will review requests, determine medication appropriateness, and escalate complex cases to a pharmacist.

The position is contract-based, based out of Eagan, MN, with shifts across CST hours and a pay range of $18–$22 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State registration/license.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
