Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers in a call center environment. Qualifications

• Experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.
• Certification as Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
