Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a certified coder
• High School diploma or GED required
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA for Medical Coding
• Maintain coding certification

Responsibilities

• Review physician progress notes for necessary documentation prior to locking of notes
• Work claims prior to submission to ensure that codes and modifiers are correct
• Assist Physicians in learning correct coding
• Act as resource to Physicians and Revenue Cycle team on coding questions
