Job summary

UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is seeking a Coder III for a remote position. The role involves monitoring Pre-Bill edits, providing coder training, and performing IR/IC CPT coding with an emphasis on accuracy and timely reimbursement.

Preference given to CIRCC credential holders with at least three years in IR/IC CPT coding. The Coder III will review and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, respond to reports, and support special projects within the Coding Department.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AACP-certified coding program or certificate required.
• Three years of hospital coding experience.
• IR/IC CPT coding experience preferred; CIRCC credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine diagnoses and procedures, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
• Meet coding accuracy standards and productivity targets.
• Code diagnoses and procedures, review documentation for accuracy.
• Adhere to department policies and participate in monthly coding meetings and continuing education.
• Complete work assignments and track daily productivity hours and charts per hour insights.
• Identify incomplete documentation and initiate physician queries for clarification.
