Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System is hiring a Certified Coding Specialist II in a fully remote position for Texas residents. You will apply ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, interpreting patient records to support ambulatory surgery and E/M encounters with accuracy and compliance.

The role requires CCS or CPC with at least 1 year of experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong physician communication. RHIA/RHIT preferred; flexible hours, Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:00pm, remote work setup.

Qualifications

• CCS or CPC certification with at least 1 year of current ambulatory ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and disease processes.
• Strong documentation and communication with physicians.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• On-site evaluation prior to hire may be required.

Responsibilities

• Code complex ambulatory surgery and mixed E/M records.
• Review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and departments to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Maintain current coding knowledge and guidelines.
