Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Specialty Coder II to join our remote team. This full-time, non-exempt position allows you to work from home while residing in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.

As a CPC/CCS/CCS-P certified coder, you will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, audit physician documentation, and mentor other specialists. You will also serve as a departmental resource and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) OR Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) OR Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P)
• High School or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of coding experience and 1 year in a medical office setting

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems.
• Audits physician documentation to assign appropriate CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers related to anesthesia coding and billing.
• Mentors and trains other Specialty Coders; serves as a resource for the department; performs other duties as assigned.
