Job summary

The American Psychological Association (APA) invites applications for a Center Coordinator within its Center for Behavioral Science and AI (CBSAI). You will support the Executive Director and Scientific Director, keeping calendars, travel, and meetings organized while tracking external deadlines and partnerships.

You will thrive in a fast-moving team, coordinating convenings, managing the Center's annual calendar, and helping grow relationships with funders, partners, and speakers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years in administrative, coordination, or executive-support role.
  • Experience in nonprofit, start-up, or research environment a plus.
  • Experience managing calendars, travel, or event logistics preferred.
  • Experience tracking deadlines across multiple stakeholders a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative tasks for Center team, including travel, meetings, and bookings.
  • Anticipate scheduling conflicts and resolve them proactively.
  • Manage the pipelines for all Center partners—funders, AI companies, and scientific/advisory contacts.
  • Prompt Center leaders to engage across pipelines to grow relationships and opportunities.
  • Coordinate logistics for convenings the Center hosts and external meetings attended by Center leaders.
  • Coordinate travel logistics for Center leaders, speakers, advisory members, and guests.
  • Own and maintain the Center's annual calendar and track speaking opportunities.
  • Maintain a master tracker of external deadlines across policy submissions, funding, and speaking opportunities.
  • Take on special projects and coordinate meetings needed to support them.
  • Some travel may be required to provide on-site support.
