Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Supervisor for the Clinical Documentation Integrity (Remote) region. This role oversees daily CDI operations, supervises CDS and CDI staff, and partners with clinicians to ensure accurate documentation and DRG assignments.

The position requires extensive CDI experience, CMS guideline knowledge, and strong leadership across onsite and remote teams. Familiarity with 3M CDI software and Epic EMR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have five+ years in hospital CDI program experience.
• Two+ years supervising CDI staff or teams.
• Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines and DRG reimbursement.
• Experience with 3M CDI Software and Epic EMR preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CDI program operations for health ministries within the region, onsite and remote.
• Provide training to CDS and CDI staff, and schedule work assignments.
• Monitor quality, productivity, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinicians, coding, quality and denials teams to ensure accurate documentation and DRG assignment.
• Maintain knowledge of MS-DRG system, CCs/MCCs, ICD-10 guidelines and regulatory standards.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, healthcare related field or Nursing

RN License

RHIA

RHIT

CCS

PA/NP/APN licensure or medical school training

CCDS or CDIP certification preferred

CMS regulations knowledge

3M CDI Software experience

Epic EMR knowledge

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) experience
